In INTO THE DEEP, robots attempt to score samples into baskets and net zones and hang specimens on chambers to receive points. In the middle of the field, a submersible holds many samples of various colors that can be used by different alliances based on their color. Human players can create specimens by attaching clips to samples that have been delivered by a robot into the observation zone. Each alliance has a high and low basket and chamber to score on, with the higher ones rewarding more points. At the end of the game, robots can park in the observation zone or ascend the rungs of the submersible to receive extra points.
